Indy Airport lands 2nd place of 10 best domestic airports
The Indy Airport recently finished in 2nd place of the top 10 best domestic airports in Travel + Leisure Magazine’s annual World’s Best Awards. The Indy airport beat out some of the nation’s most notable domestic airports.
The Indy Airport came in a slightly behind Portland International Airport in the top spot when the Indy Airport lands 2nd place of 10 best domestic airports. This is the first time the Indy airport has been named a best domestic airport in the World’s Best list. Reader input was collected via an online survey from Nov. 2, 2015 to Feb. 29, 2016. Respondents rated airlines, airports, car-rental agencies, cities, cruise ships, destination spas, hotels, hotel brands, islands, tour operators, and safari outfitters on a number of characteristics.
The Indianapolis airport is no stranger to awards. Conde Nast Traveler readers named it the best airport in America in 2014 and 2015. In March, it received the Best in North America designation in the Airports Council International’s annual Airport Service Quality Awards. The Indy airport earned this prestigious honor four years in a row, and five times in the past six years. In 2015, the Indianapolis airport was also inducted into the Airports Council International Director General’s Roll of Excellence, and is one of the few U.S. airports to be included in this elite group of worldwide airports.
